RDSP grant and bond calculator
For a Registered Disability Savings Plan, the government can add up to $3 for every $1 you contribute, plus a bond of up to $1,000 a year for lower incomes, even without a contribution.
Assumptions
- 2026 grant: family income ≤ $117,045 gets 300% on the first $500 and 200% on the next $1,000 (max $3,500); above that, 100% on the first $1,000 (max $1,000). Lifetime grant max $70,000.
- 2026 bond: $1,000 if income ≤ $38,237, reduced proportionally to $0 at $58,523 (approximation of the legislated formula). Lifetime bond max $20,000.
- Grants and bonds are paid until December 31 of the year the beneficiary turns 49. Ignores carry-forward of unused grant/bond entitlements and repayment (holdback) rules.
